A fashion social networking app focused on community and creation.
MIRROR is a fashion platform designed to connect individuals who share a passion for self-expression through fashion. Much like the journey many of us are on, exploring identities and preferences through fashion, this app aims to be a catalyst for a community-driven exploration of personal style. Fashion is a language that articulates our life statements, revealing who we are and who we aspire to become.
This app is meant to be a shared space where users can share, learn, and celebrate the diverse expressions of fashion.

While researching for this project, I conducted a couple of user interviews to better get an idea of why this app is needed and how will it benefit the user. These were some of the painpoints that I came across:

Individuals felt that it was hard to find what they truly liked in stores

Individuals felt like they didn't have the money to buy the things they wanted

Individuals were interested in having an app that catered specifically to their niche interests

And many were interested in elevating and learning more about their personal style
Additionally, I researched the indirect and direct competitors of MIRROR to investigate what's already available in the market and to draw inspiration.
Keeping these painpoints in mind, I decided on these core offerings to ensure the best user experience:

I decided to keep the look of the app chic and straightforward. As a community-driven app, I thought it'd be best if a lot of the glam of the app came from the art and minds of the users. The clickable protoype is available here.
The home page is where user content will live. Individuals can interact with posts from their following as well as click on individual items on any post for a information popup where they can add that item to their own closet. Also included is MIRROR's article space in the top left corner. Here users can really indugle in the conversations around modern fashion trends and topics.

The search page includes MIRROR's spotlighted articles as well as organized categories to the app's open library of items. It gives the experience of endless online browsing without the expense of the individual's pockets.

MIRROR's canvas space gives you a full array of creative tools (such as free transform, crop, pen/pencil, etc) to create your posts as well as access to your own saved closet and MIRROR's wide inventory items.

Here users can chat directly with ther friends and engage in communities chats of likeminded people.
MIRROR's profile space allows header and profile customization. It also displays your top communities. The closet space is where users can organize their items in self titled folders.
